In the "Letting Go" watercolour series, I explore formation of organic shapes working with the dissolution of pigments, and metal oxidation* using salt. By mixing water with different types of salts on cotton paper, I create a colour palette and textures resembling those of human skin, decaying organic matter and imaginary other-worldly landscapes.

Various sized white dots of unpainted surface build a dialogue between materials (pigments) and lack thereof (emptiness). The viewer is invited to experience presence and absence, randomness and control, remembering and forgetting.

*Over time the bronze pigment will lose its shining as the bronze powder darkens through its own natural oxidation process on paper.
