Ekaterina Adelskaya:
"In the series of abstract paintings Letting Go I mix watercolour with a range of salts on cotton paper. The result is a "living painting", where materials' spontaneous mutations are harnessed into the finished picture. Various sized white dots of unpainted surface build a dialogue between materials (pigments) and lack thereof (emptiness). The viewer is invited to experience randomness and control, presence and absence, remembering and forgetting"
*Over time the bronze pigment will lose its shining as the bronze powder darkens through its own natural oxidation process on paper.
