Traditional mediums, such as paper books, are fading away like ancient ruins of knowledge, replaced today by omnipresent LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) screens: phones, laptops, TV screens and E-readers.

In the series ‘Other Worlds’ I collected discarded books from Second-hand bookshops, with no commercial value. I was curious to test different crystallization techniques, growing crystals off the porous aged pages, effectively transforming and deconstructing the books.

These ruins of old works of literature represent symbolic portals to the new digital age as well as remnants of the past.
