Long Winter Nights

Long Winter Nights explores the relationship between architecture, childhood memories and the idea of home. Inspired by traditional Ukrainian stoves and chimneys, as well as Soviet Brutalist tower blocks raised on concrete pillars, the sculpture combines domestic and monumental architectural forms.
Made from cardboard and painted to resemble weathered concrete, its cold, imposing exterior contrasts with the warm light glowing through small openings. The work reflects on the contrast between the harshness of the outside world and the warmth and intimacy of home.
Medium: Cardboard, decorative paint, masking tape, glue, LED lights
Dimensions: 186 × 52 × 75 cm
